Chloe Kottwitz

Chloe Kottwitz is a neon artist from Bolivar, NY working in Richmond, VA. She holds a BFA in Art and Design, concentration in glass, from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.

Her work focuses on her relationship with nature. She has developed a practice of carrying neon with her on hikes, placing the neon in the space as an act of praise and recognition, and documenting the installation.

Kottwitz is drawn to the craft of neon because of her fascination with glass, light, and skill. Learning skills offers both confidence in completing a task and new ways to translate conceptual ideas.
